Indian-American astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are stuck in the International Space Station (ISS). Meanwhile, NASA has chosen Elon Musk's SpaceX to bring astronauts back to Earth. In a report, the Indian magazine Business Today gave this.
The astronauts initially arrived aboard Boeing's Starliner for what was supposed to be an eight-day mission, the report said. However, technical problems with the Boeing capsule extended their stay to 78 days. But the question is, in such a situation, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) can take significant steps to bring them back?
In response, ISRO chief S Somnath said, India cannot directly help bring Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore back to Earth. Only the US or Russia can bring back the two astronauts.
ISRO chief S Somnath also said, "We don't have any spacecraft that can go there and save them." It is not possible. The United States has the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft and Russia has the Soyuz spacecraft that could bring Williams and Wilmore back to the International Space Station.
Note that on June 5 of this year, NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore traveled to space on board Boeing's Starliner from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. They have been stuck in space for more than two months.
